In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
| When the inevitable occurs. | إِذَاوَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ |
| And then there will be no one to deny its occurrence. | لَيۡسَ لِوَقۡعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ |
| Bringing low (some), raising high (others). | خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ |
| When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. | إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ رَجًّا |
| And the mountains will be crushed and crumbled. | وَبُسَّتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ بَسًّا |
| So that they will become floating dust particles. | فَكَانَتۡ هَبَآءً مُّنۢبَثًّا |
| And you shall be divided into three groups. | وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا ثَلَـٰثَةً |
| So those on the Right how (fortunate) of those on the Right? | فَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ |
| And those on the Left how (unfortunate) will be those on the left? | وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ |
| And those foremost will be the foremost. | وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ |
| These will be the nearest (to Allah.) | أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ |
| In the Gardens of Bliss. | فِي جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيم |
| A multitude of those will be from the first ones. | ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ |
| And a few of those will be from the later ones. | وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ |
| On luxurious furnishings. | عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّوۡضُونَةٍ |
| Reclining on them, facing each other. | مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيۡهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ |
| They will be served by eternal boys. | يَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وِلۡدَٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ |
| With cups, and jugs, and a glass of flowing wine. | بِأَكۡوَابٍ وَّأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأۡسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ |
| Causing them neither headache, nor drunkenness. | لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنۡهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ |
| And fruits of their choice. | وَفَٰكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ |
| And flesh of fowls that they may desire. | وَلَحۡمِ طَيۡرٍ مِّمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ |
| And maidens with wide lovely eyes. | وَحُورٌ عِينٌ |
| Like preserved pearls in their shells. | كَأَمۡثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤۡلُوِٕ ٱلۡمَكۡنُونِ |
| As a reward for what they used to do. | جَزَآءًۘ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ |
| Therein they will hear no nonsense, and no accusations. | لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوًا وَّلَا تَأۡثِيمًا |
| But only the greetings: “Peace, peace.” | إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَٰمًا سَلَٰمًا |
| And those on the Right—what of those on the Right? | وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ |
| They will be among thornless lote trees | فِي سِدۡرٍ مَّخۡضُودٍ |
| and clustered bananas | وَطَلۡحٍ مَّنضُودٍ |
| and long-extended shade | وَظِلٍّ مَّمۡدُودٍ |
| And by water flowing constantly | وَمَآءٍ مَّسۡكُوبٍ |
| And plenty of fruit | وَفَٰكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ |
| Neither withheld, nor forbidden. | لَّا مَقۡطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمۡنُوعَةٍ |
| And on couches, raised high. | وَفُرُشٍ مَّرۡفُوعَةٍ |
| We have created them a special creation | إِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَـٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءً |
| And made them virgins. | فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا |
| Intensely loving and of matching age. | عُرُبًا أَتۡرَابًا |
| For those on the Right. | لِّأَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ |
| A multitude of those will be from the first ones. | ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ |
| And a multitude of those will be from the later generations. | وَثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ |
| And those on the Left—what of those on the Left? | وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ |
| In fierce hot wind and boiling water | فِي سَمُومٍ وَّحَمِيمٍ |
| And shadow of black smoke | وَظِلٍّ مِّن يَّحْمُومٍ |
| (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good | لَّا بَارِدٍ وَّلَا كَرِيمٍ |
| They had lived before that in luxury. | إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَ |
| and had persisted in the Great Sin. | وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ |
| And they used to say, “When we are dead and turned into dust and bones, are we to be resurrected? | وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَّعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ |
| And our ancient ancestors too? | أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ |
| Say, “Indeed, the earlier ones and the later ones | قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ |
| Will be gathered for the appointment of a familiar Day.” | لَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٍ مَّعۡلُومٍ |
| Then you, you misguided ones, deniers! | ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ |
| Will certainly eat from the tree of bitterness. | لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ |
| Will be filling your bellies with it. | فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ |
| Then on top of it, you will be drinking boiling water. | فَشَـٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ |
| Drinking like thirsty camels do. | فَشَـٰرِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ |
| That is their hospitality on the Day of Recompense! | هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ |
| We created you — so why then you do not believe? | نَحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ فَلَوۡلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ |
| Do you not see what you ejaculate? | أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تُمۡنُونَ |
| Is it you who create it, or are we the creator? | ءَأَنتُمۡ تَخۡلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَ |
| We have determined death among you, and We cannot be prevented. | نَحۡنُ قَدَّرۡنَا بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَسۡبُوقِينَ |
| In replacing you with your likes, and transforming you into what you do not know. | عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَـٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِى مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ |
| You are well aware of the first creation; then, why do you not learn a lesson from it? | وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ فَلَوۡلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ |
| Do you not see what you sow? | أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَحۡرُثُونَ |
| Is it you or We Who make them grow? | ءَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ |
| If We will, We can turn it into rubble; then you will lament. | لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ حُطَـٰمًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ |
| (Saying:) “We are indeed penalised!” | إِنَّا لَمُغۡرَمُونَ |
| No, we are being deprived. | بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَ |
| Have you seen the water you drink? | أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَآءَ ٱلَّذِي تَشۡرَبُونَ |
| Is it you who brought it down from the clouds or is it We Who brought it down? | ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنزَلۡتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُزۡنِ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنزِلُونَ |
| If We will, We can make it bitter. Why, then, you are not thankful? | لَوۡ نَشَآءُ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوۡلَا تَشۡكُرُونَ |
| Have you seen the fire you kindle? | أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي تُورُونَ |
| Is it you who produce its tree, or are We the Producer? | ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنشَأۡتُمۡ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنشِـُٔونَ |
| We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. | نَحۡنُ جَعَلۡنَٰهَا تَذۡكِرَةً وَّمَتَٰعًا لِّلۡمُقۡوِينَ |
| So glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme. | فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ |
| No! I swear by the positions of the stars. | فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ |
| and this is indeed a mighty oath, if only you knew | وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ |
| that this is indeed a noble Quran | إِنَّهُ لَقُرۡءَانٌ كَرِيمٌ |
| in a well-guarded preserved Book | فِي كِتَٰبٍ مَّكۡنُونٍ |
| None can touch but the purified | لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَ |
| A revelation from the Lord of the Universe. | تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ |
| Is it this message (the Qur’an) that you treat lightly? | أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدۡهِنُونَ |
| And you make it your livelihood to deny it? | وَتَجۡعَلُونَ رِزۡقَكُمۡ أَنَّكُمۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ |
| Then why do you not (intervene) when it reaches the throat (of a dying person) | فَلَوۡلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلۡحُلۡقُومَ |
| And you at the moment are looking at it | وَأَنتُمۡ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ |
| and We are nearer to him than you, but you cannot see Us | وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَيۡهِ مِنكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبۡصِرُونَ |
| Then why, if you are not to be judged | فَلَوۡلَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ غَيۡرَ مَدِينِينَ |
| Bring back the soul (to its body), if you are truthful | تَرۡجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ |
| So if he is one of those brought near (to Allah) | فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ |
| Then happiness, and flowers, and Garden of Delights | فَرَوْحٌ وَّرَيْحَانٌ وَّجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ |
| And if he is one of the People on the Right, | وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ |
| Then, “Peace upon you,” from those on the Right. | فَسَلَـٰمٌ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ |
| But if he is one of the deniers, the mistaken. | وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ |
| he will be welcomed with boiling water | فَنُزُلٌ مِّنۡ حَمِيمٍ |
| And burning in Hell. | وَتَصۡلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ |
| This is the certain truth. | إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ |
